Asin and Deepika Padukone went to town claiming that they are phone buddies. Now, the lines have been crossed. After Asin’s sudden exit from Ashutosh Gowarikar’s Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Se,Ashu has signed Deepika as his leading lady. The gorgeous, hazel-eyed Bangalore beauty is said to be wrapping up a commercial shooting at this point. She also has a verbal commitment with Ashu saying she will not issue any statements about her role without his permission. However, the fact is that Deepika will fly to Goa to romance Bachchan Junior in this sensitive film based on the Chittagong Uprising of 1930. “Yes, Deepika is on. We are looking forward to working with her and we start shooting on November 9,” confirmed Ashutosh’s wife and producer Sunita Gowarikar. 

Of late, there have been reports that Suriya is acting in a Sri Lankan film. However, the Aadhavanstar has categorically denied signing any such film. “I’m currently shooting for Hari’s Singam,” the star said in a press statement. “After this, I’ll do Ram Gopal Varma’s Hindi film. Then, I will be doing a film for producer Udhayanidhi Stalin that will be directed by A R Murugadoss. There is no truth in reports stating that I’m doing a Sri Lankan film,” he added. 

Venkat Prabhu’s Soundarya Rajinikanth- produced Goa is turning out to be a surprise package. The latest we hear is that Nayanthara has done a glamorous cameo appearance in the film, which is likely to be one of its highlights. Nayan shot for the film in Chennai for a day with the lead cast of film (including Jai, Vaibhav and Premgi) without taking any remuneration, as she is a big fan of Venkat Prabhu’s movies. Nayan’s last special appearance was with Rajinikanth in Kuselan. Meanwhile, the buzz around Goa is getting bigger as Yuvan’s music is said to be smashing. Though there are nine songs in the album, only three or four numbers will feature in the film.    The producers of the film, we hear, are planning a big audio launch for the film in December. The movie is scheduled to release for Pongal 2010.
