The city police are negotiating with the gold merchants to regularise the movements of huge quantity of gold by providing identity cards to all the agents who transport gold in the city. The movement of gold happens in very unregulated manner said city police commissioner T.Rajendran in an interaction with the press on Thursday.
The escalating gold price being the reason behind various crimes, the official said and attributed it as the reason for the increase in incidents of chain snatching. has nabbed several persons in connection with robbery cases and recovered property worth Rs 1.36 crore during last one month.
