The priest, wanted by the police for allegedly indulging in sex with women inside the sanctum sanctorum of a temple in Kancheepuram, surrendered in a court on Monday.
Devanathan (35), priest of Maheswarar temple located near Kancheepuram bus stand, surrendered in a judicial magistrate court in Kancheepuram after his anticipatory bail was rejected by the Madras high court last week. He was remanded to 15 days judicial custody and later lodged in Kancheepuram sub-jail.
