Rescue operators work at the site where coaches of the New Delhi-bough Man-dore Express was derailed near Banskhoh, a village nearly 40km south of Jaipur on Saturday. The derailed train killed at least seven people and injures 20.

A Chittoor-based degree student died at the NTR reservoir near Kalvakunta village of Penumur mandal 15 km from Chittoor on Saturday evening. Sources said Chanbasha 19 a degree II student of PCR college in Chittoor, reached the reservoir along with his collegemate Mumtaz, 19 at around 3.30 pm. After strolling by the scenic reservoir they rested on the dam for a while. At around 4 pm the girl was seen leaving the place in a hurry on a motorbike along with an unidentified boy. Here’s some good news for movie buffs. Ravendran, producer of Aayirathil Oruvan,has confirmed that the film, which has been in the making for three long years and which is being directed by Selvaraghavan, will hit the screens for Pongal next year. The film stars Karthi, Reema Sen, Andrea and Parthepan in the lead and has music by G V Prakash, which is still topping the charts.
